CSUSM Classroom 2.0 Wiki- Yodio (NETS-T I, V)

I contributed to my class wiki page by exploring and analyzing a web 2.0 tool. I chose to research a slide show tool called Yodio, this tool allows users to create and narrate their own slide show (see my Yodio). This artifact showcases my ability to use collaborative tools and demonstrates my ability to use creativity in a digital manner.

Classroom Newsletter (NETS-T I, III)

I created a classroom newsletter using Microsoft Word. My newsletter entails the use of clip art, multiple columns, three clearly marked and separated paragraphs, and a scanned hand-drawn image. I creatively used the tools available on Microsoft Word to create an original artifact. This newsletter models creative thinking and technology.

Excel Crossword Puzzle-Art (NETS-T I, II, III)

I created a crossword puzzle by using Microsoft Excel. I customized the puzzle by editing the font, background, border, and pattern. I used conditional formatting in order for students to see if they have used the correct beginning letter of each word. I chose a theme for my puzzle, which is terms regarding art. This crossword could be created with the hopes of reinforcing any subject matter. This artifact demonstrates my fluency in using Excel and demonstrates my ability to transfer information to technology.

Copyright/Internet Safety Assignment (NETS-T IV, V)

I worked collaboratively on this assignment with five of my classmates via Google Documents. We researched and discussed copyright and internet safety issues including Cyber Predators, Cyberbullying, Social Networks, Inappropriate Content, Privacy and Plagiarism, and Identity Safety. Each specific area includes a clear definition of the topic and student assignments you can apply in a classroom, it is a great resource for the future. By completing this artifact I gained experience in working with a group through and online source (GoogleDocs) and learned about internet safety and feel confident in modeling digitally responsibility to my students.

Inspiration (NETS-T I, II, III)

Inspiration is a graphic organizer that allows individuals to brainstorm their thoughts in a creative and organized fashion. I used this tool to organize my artifacts according to which specific NETS for Teachers standards they met. Inspiration is easy and fun to use and is great alternative to traditional brainstorming.

CSUSM PSA iMovie (NETS-T II, III, IV)

I created an iMovie using a Macintosh video-editing software. My iMovie is a short public service announcement on why prospective college students should attend California State University San Marcos. I uploaded video footage, added music, created a voice over, added screen effects, text, and edited each clip in order for my movie to flow smoothly. By creating this iMovie I am able to prove that I can transfer current knowledge to new technologies. I also modeled digital responsibility by citing my sources at the end of my movie.
